Chandigarh: Mayor launches rRs.r63 lakh water pipeline upgrade
Chandigarh, Aug. 9 -- In a move aimed at strengthening the city's water supply infrastructure, Chandigarh mayor Saurabh Joshi on Saturday inaugurated a Rs.63.7 lakh project for replacing the existing water pipeline in Cheap House, Sector 24-C.
The project involves replacing the ageing cast iron (CI) pipeline with a more durable ductile iron (DI) pipeline, with a focus on improving accessibility, maintenance, and reliability of the water supply system. A key component of the upgrade includes shifting the pipeline alignment from the rear courtyards of houses to the front side, enabling easier inspection and repair work.
