CBI arrests I&B ministry officer for taking bribe
New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a senior officer posted in the Union ministry of information and broadcasting while accepting Rs.10 lakh bribe through his wife for clearing a renewal file of a private company that handles the social media of the ministry, agency officials said on Wednesday.
The accused, identified as Sandeep Choudhary, is posted as a deputy controller of accounts in I&B ministry (MIB).
On August 14, when the firm contacted Choudhary in connection with contract renewal, he "demanded an undue advantage from the complainant to process the file expeditiously," the FIR said.
