New Delhi, June 30 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested a fugitive wanted in a case related to the 2021 post-poll violence in West Bengal, according to an official statement released on Monday. The accused, identified as Khalid-Uz-Zaman, had been on the run for the past five years and was arrested from Nanded in Maharashtra. Zaman, the central agency said in a statement, was wanted in connection with the killing of Hasnur Zaman on May 3, 2021, at North Kalsara village in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district after the declaration of Assembly election results, which gave a massive win to the then chief minister Mamata Banerjee and her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC).
