Cabinet clears 'DURGA' scheme; 1,300 pink e-autos in first phase
New Delhi, Sept. 24 -- The Delhi Cabinet on Wednesday approved the 'DURGA' electric auto scheme to provide livelihood opportunities to women and transgender persons while promoting safer, cleaner last-mile transport in the city, a release by the chief minister's office said.
The Upliftment and Rozgar for Women/Transgender Green E-Auto (DURGA) scheme will provide 1,300 pink electric autos in its first phase, with 1,170 earmarked for women and 130 for transgender persons, and applications will be invited through an online portal. Each revenue district will receive a maximum of 90 e-autos for women and 10 for transgender persons.
