c'garh: 3 burnt alive in clashes over sand mining
Raipur, June 18 -- Three people, including a 60-year-old man, were burnt alive and two others sustained serious injuries after a violent clash allegedly linked to a long-running dispute over sand mining operations in Chhattisgarh's Korea district, police said on Wednesday, adding that four people were arrested in relation with the incident, while efforts were on to nab the others.
Additional superintendent of police Suresha Chaubey said the incident took place on Tuesday night in Sonhat tehsil. The victims were travelling in two vehicles, including an SUV, when they were attacked by the rival group.
