New Delhi, April 3 -- The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) on Thursday suspended Colonel Abhishek Kumar Mishra, its deputy commissioner of Shahdara North zone, two days after he was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over allegations of bribery, said senior civic officials from vigilance department.

The civic body also has orders for his replacement. Mamta Yadav, the assessor and collector of the corporation will be operational as deputy commissioner of the Shahdara North zone in addition of her own assignment, said the April 2 order, seen by HT.

On March 31, CBI had arrested Mishra, as well as administrative officer Devanshu Gautam of the same zone, for allegedly demanding Rs.4 lakh as a bribe. He was sent to 15-...
