Bowlers feel the heat in men's T20 internationals | Number Theory
India, Oct. 17 -- On Saturday, the men's teams of India and West Indies will square off in Bengaluru in the decider of a five-match T20 series that has tormented bowlers. Of the 8 innings in this series, 6 have seen scores of above 200 runs. The average run rate for the series stands at an eye-popping 11.46 per over. It has led India coach Gautam Gambhir to lament that, on flat pitches that are a blessing for batsmen, "careers [of Indian bowlers] are at stake". Indeed, mirroring T20 club leagues, 2026 has seen new advances in scoring rates in T20 internationals, and not just in India.
