India, Oct. 6 -- The Bombay High Court on October 3 quashed a one-year preventive detention order issued by the Pune police against a 19-year-old man under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities (MPDA) Act, observing that the material relied upon by the authorities did not establish that his activities posed a threat to public order.

A division bench of Justices Ranjit More and Sarang Kotwal passed the order on a petition filed by Aman Ismail Khan, challenging the detention order issued by the Pune police commissioner under the MPDA Act. The bench delivered the order on October 3, and a copy was made available on Monday.
