Bombay HC grants bail to convict in 2010 Kishor Marne murder case
India, Aug. 18 -- The Bombay high court (HC) has granted bail to Deepak Gulab Bhatambrekar - who is serving a life sentence for the 2010 murder of Kishor Marne - citing the considerable time he has spent in custody and the likelihood that his appeal against the conviction will not be heard immediately.
A division bench of justices M S Karnik and Sandesh D Patil passed the order on August 14 while allowing Bhatambrekar's interim application for bail pending disposal of his criminal appeal. A copy of the order was made available on Monday.
According to the order, Bhatambrekar was arrested on January 12, 2010 and was convicted by the trial court on May 19, 2016 under sections 302 and 139 read with section 120 B of the Indian Penal Code (IP...
