Bahraich, April 26 -- A BJP MLA suffered severe burn injuries to her face on Saturday in Uttar Pradesh's Bahraich while participating in a protest against the recent rejection of a bill to expand Lok Sabha seats to implement women reservation, police said. The incident occurred near the district magistrate's residence as protesters burnt effigies of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. "A sudden gust of wind caused the flames from the burning effigies to flare up and engulf the face of BJP MLA Anupama Jaiswal, leading to burn injuries," said BJP district media in-charge Rahul Roy.
