Jaipur, Sept. 16 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the 2026 Rajasthan urban local body elections by a margin of 0.94 percentage points against the Congress, highlighting a closely fought polls in the state. Across 309 urban local bodies and 10,244 wards, the BJP secured 35.18% of the votes against 34.24% for the Congress. The margin is the second narrowest between the BJP and Congress in Rajasthan's civic elections since 2019. Only the 2021 polls were closer, when the Congress led the BJP by 0.67 percentage points - 34.23% against 33.56%.
