New Delhi, June 5 -- The BJP and the Congress on Thursday announced 11 and seven candidates, respectively, for the high-stakes June 18 Rajya Sabha polls.
The ruling party nominated national general secretary Tarun Chugh from Madhya Pradesh and picked A Sharada Devi, an associate of former chief minister N Biren Singh, from Manipur. The party, however, did not renominate Union ministers George Kurien and Ravneet Singh Bittu.
The Congress, on the other hand, renominated party president Mallikarjun Kharge and also picked AICC secretary Pranav Jha and its media department head Pawan Khera. P10
