India, Aug. 20 -- To address passenger safety concerns amid heavy crowds on the newly launched Yellow Line, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has put up steel barricades at RV Road Interchange Metro Station. The move comes just days after Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya flagged the risk of overcrowding at the station and urged officials to take immediate steps to prevent accidents.

Surya, in a post on X, welcomed the precautionary measure but stressed the need for permanent solutions. "While welcoming this move by BMRCL, I also urge the authorities to work on sustainable solutions such as platform screen doors across all stations to improve safety of commuters," he wrote.
