PRAYAGRAJ, April 2 -- The Allahabad high court has directed a man, who was earlier granted security after allegedly being stopped from offering namaz at his house, not to hold large gatherings.

The petitioner also gave an undertaking that he would not allow a large number of people to assemble at his property for offering namaz.

The court asked the state authorities to take action if public peace and tranquillity are threatened due to large gatherings. The high court also discharged the contempt notice issued to the Bareilly district magistrate and senior superintendent of police.
