India, Nov. 4 -- In a surprising move, Bangladesh has announced it will be scrapping all plans to hire music teachers for primary schools. Along with the post for music teacher, recruitment for physical education has also been halted.

As per reports, this decision by the Muhammad Yunus-led government comes amid growing opposition from Islamist groups.

As per local news outlet bdnews24, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education issued a gazette on Sunday regarding the changes.
