Srinagar, Sept. 25 -- The Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday informed the legislative assembly that the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) was being implemented across all 20 districts of the union territory with over 12.89 lakh farmers covered and claims worth Rs.221.71 crore registered so far.

Minister for agriculture production, rural development and panchayati raj, Javid Ahmad Dar, while responding to questions by four MLAs, said that the horticulture sector remains one of the key pillars of J&K's economy, supporting the livelihoods and employment of a large section of the population.
