auto-headlamps must be at low beam: draft rules
New Delhi, Aug. 20 -- Automatic headlamps should operate only in the passing beam level, commonly known as low-beam, from April 1, 2028, under draft rules proposed by the Union ministry of road transport and highways, along with multiple road-safety measures covering the visibility of buses, tractors, construction vehicles and others.
These draft amendments to the Central Motor Vehicles Rules were published on Wednesday and is open to suggestions and objections from the public.
Among the proposed changes, medium-distance (Type II) and long-distance (Type III) buses would have to carry reflective markings around the rear of the vehicle from April 1, 2028. The markings would have to meet updated requirements for their size, installation and p...
