At this Amsterdam museum, visitors are put behind bars while animals roam free
India, Nov. 2 -- At Amsterdam's Art Zoo Museum, visitors are the ones behind bars while a giant crocodile hangs overhead, a cheetah appears to be resting in a corner and a massive spider crab stretches its legs across a doorway. The unusual arrangement creates the impression that the animals are free to roam while visitors remain inside cages.
Housed in a 17th-century canal house, the museum features hundreds of preserved animals, bones and curiosities. Created by two Dutch artists, the museum combines preserved animal displays with artwork, giving visitors a different take on a traditional natural history museum.
