Assembly bypolls in Karnataka, Nagaland, Tripura largely peaceful
Bengaluru/Kohima/Agartala, April 10 -- Polling for four assembly bypolls across three states - Karnataka, Nagaland and Tripura- concluded without any major untoward incident on Thursday, officials said, adding all four seats recorded high voter turnout.
In Karnataka, over 68% voter turnout was recorded till 11 pm in both constituencies that went to bypolls, according to data from ECI. Bagalkot registered 68.67% turnout, while Davanagere South recorded 68.43% - both tentative figures. The bypolls were necessitated due to the deaths of Congress MLAs HY Meti (Bagalkot) and Shamanur Shivashankarappa (Davanagere South).
