India, March 15 -- The voting for all 126 Assembly constituencies in Assam will be held in a single phase on April 9, with results to be announced on May 4.

The Election Commission on Sunday announced the dates for the Assembly elections in Assam, along with three other states and one union territory.

The term for the current 126-member legislative assembly in Assam is scheduled to end on May 20, 2026.

* Last date for nominations: March 23, 2026

* Date for scrutiny of nominations: March 24, 2026

* Last date for withdrawal of candidatures: March 26, 2026

* Date of polling: April 9, 2026
