New Delhi, July 29 -- Seven more deaths have been reported on Tuesday from the flood-affected districts in Assam, raising the toll to 75. Chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has relaxed the norms for providing an ex-gratia to families of those dead or missing in floods this year, while announcing an additional Rs.5 lakh compensation over and above Rs.4 lakh payment to families of the deceased. According to a report for Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), all seven deaths were reported from Sibsagar, the worst affected district in this month's flooding.
