Asiad bound wrestler fails dope test
New Delhi, Sept. 10 -- In yet another doping case before the departure of athletes for the Asian Games, Greco-Roman wrestler Deepak has tested positive and withdrawn from the Indian contingent, according to officials aware of the development.
Deepak, who competed in the 67kg class, has been provisionally suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency, an official confirmed to HT.
NADA collected samples from the wrestler during the selection trials for the Asian Games held in Lucknow on May 31. He tested positive for a WADA-prohibited substance.
