Apple Pay finally launches in India after decade-long wait
New Delhi, Oct. 1 -- After a decade-long wait, Apple's contactless payments service Apple Pay is launching in India, initially supporting Axis Bank credit cards issued on the Visa and Mastercard networks as credit card spending continues to grow rapidly. Jennifer Bailey, Apple's vice-president of Apple Pay and Apple Wallet, told HT that the company needed the right regulatory framework, payments infrastructure and banking partners before launching the service in India.
