India, July 20 -- Andy Burnham on Monday ascended to the position of Prime Minister, marking an incredibly swift transition of power at Number 10.

With no other Labour MPs stepping up to succeed Sir Keir Starmer, the former mayor of Greater Manchester was guaranteed a coronation.
