India, Sept. 19 -- The Union home minister, Amit Shah, will lay the foundation stone for the Rs.600 crore,multi state cooperative project based on the 'Zero Waste' concept at the Kallappanna Awade Jawahar Cooperative Sugar Factory at Hatkanangale taluka in Kolhapur on September 20, said the factory's director and former state minister Prakash Awade. Shah will be reaching Kolhapur on September 19 evening.

Awade said that given the current challenges facing the sugar industry, the objective behind this project is to create high-value-added products from byproducts rather than relying solely on sugar production, ensuring sustainable development for sugarcane farmers and cooperative sugar factories.
