Lucknow, Oct. 26 -- Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav on Monday demanded that electoral rolls be linked with Aadhaar cards and biometric verification facilities be mandatory at every polling booth to curb alleged large-scale irregularities in Uttar Pradesh's voter lists.

Addressing party leaders and new joinees at the SP headquarters , Yadav alleged that the BJP was engaging in "vote fixing" through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. He warned that such practices would weaken democracy, undermine the Constitution, and erode public trust in institutions.
