India, Aug. 21 -- National Students' Union of India (NSUI) workers staged a protest in Ahmedabad on Thursday, demanding justice following the death of a student who was stabbed by a classmate.

Holding placards, a large number of NSUI workers took to the streets to protest against the authorities and attempted to enter the Seventh Day Adventist Higher Secondary School.

However, a heavy deployment of police personnel prevented them from entering the premises, and some protesters were taken into preventive custody on the spot.

In addition to the security personnel, water cannons were deployed outside the school. On Wednesday, family members of the deceased student had approached the police with complaints against the school management.
