After Maharashtra hill tragedy, Delhi dance teacher jumps into Yamuna amid stress over iPhone EMI, money issues
India, Aug. 23 -- A case of stress over financial pressure and the mounting weight of unpaid instalments on an iPhone led a dance teacher to allegedly jump into the Yamuna River in southeast Delhi.
The teacher, 30, allegedly jumped into the Yamuna after being unable to pay the instalments due to a drop in his income, reported news agency PTI, citing police.
The incident occurred at around 8:30 pm on Friday near Bhola Ghat, Kalindi Kunj area.
Police personnel on patrol were alerted that a man had jumped into the river. Taking swift action, a team reached the spot and informed the flood department. Following this, a rescue team arrived with a boat.
Subsequently, the man was spotted in the river and successfully brought to safety.
