MUMBAI, July 1 -- In another setback for Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT), its MLC Sachin Ahir joined the Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde-led camp on Tuesday, days after six of the party's Lok Sabha MPs switched sides. Ahir, a former MLA from Worli and a close confidante of UBT leader Aaditya Thackeray, was also fielded by the Shinde camp for the Maharashtra Legislative Council deputy chairperson election scheduled for July 1. Ahir's exit is seen as a significant blow to the Uddhav Thackeray camp.
