New Delhi, Sept. 1 -- Nine MLAs, belonging to the Naga community, from the ruling coalition government in Manipur have demanded Union home minsiter Amit Shah to take immediate action against Kuki-Zo leaders over their alleged role in the killing of Naga civilians.
In a letter to Shah, the MLAs, including deputy chief minister Losai Diko, have also sought action against deputy chief minister Nemcha Kipgen, who belongs to the Kuki-Zo community for allegedly colluding with Kuki militant groups led by her husband Thangboi Kipen, a Kuki National Front-Progressive (KNF-P) leader.
The MLAs sent the letter in the backdrop of Naga-Kuki clashes that started in February and has led to over 30 deaths and hundreds of houses burnt.
