India, Oct. 1 -- An 80-year-old man's body, kept inside a freezer at a Malad clinic for nearly four years after his death, was finally cremated on Wednesday after Kurar police discovered it and counselled his family. The family had allegedly been exploring the possibility of preserving the body and sending it to the US for cryonic preservation.

The matter came to light on Monday night after residents alerted the Kurar police. Officers who reached the polyclinic found the man's body inside a freezer. The clinic had been shut for around a month for renovation.
