60 Freeway closed? Tour bus catches fire on California highway, SigAlert activated as one dead
India, Aug. 21 -- A major fire on a tour bus resulted in the death of at least one person on Friday morning along the 60 Freeway, as reported by officials. It is unknown if the deceased was a passenger or the driver.
The event occurred at approximately 5:38 a.m. near the intersection of State Route 60 and Azusa Avenue in Hacienda Heights, according to a log from the California Highway Patrol.
Photographs taken at the scene reveal that the rear section of the bus was severely charred, with flames seemingly consuming multiple rows of seats, as per NY Post.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived at the location and successfully put out the fire.
