5 killed in boiler blast at Andhra pharma unit
Hyderabad, Oct. 4 -- Around five workers were killed and 10 others suffered serious injuries after a boiler at a private pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh's Tirupati district's Sri City Special Economic Zone (SEZ) exploded early on Saturday, officials familiar with the matter said.
The accident took place at the Till Healthcare pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, which produces tablets. According to preliminary reports, the boiler suddenly exploded while workers were on the night shift, triggering a massive fire inside the industrial unit.
Those injured were immediately evacuated and shifted to hospitals for treatment.
