Silchar, Sept. 13 -- Five people died in Assam's Sonitpur district after the minivan they were travelling in allegedly lost control, crossed into the opposite lane and rammed into an oncoming speeding truck, police said on Saturday. They said two of them died on the spot while three succumbed during treatment. The incident took place on NH 15 in the Balipara area under Rangapara Police Station around 11.30pm on Friday, and the truck driver has not been found yet, police said. "Those injured were taken to a nearby hospital where two of them were declared dead while three others succumbed during treatment," said SSP Sonitpur Barun Purkayastha. HTC
