Imphal, March 15 -- A four-year-old boy died and his 58-year-old father was critically injured in a suspected bomb blast in Manipur's Noney district on Saturday, police said. According to police, the incident took place at around 8.30 am at Mankaolong-II (Taolingpung) village, when the duo and stepped on a "lathode" bomb on the way to a paddy field near their residence. A police team rushed to the spot, retrieved the injured father and son and took them to a nearby health care centre, where doctors declared the son dead while his father remains in critical condition, an officer aware of the matter said.
