Jalandhar, Aug. 9 -- Three youths were killed after their car rammed into a stationary truck near Maqsudan bypass on the Jalandhar-Amritsar national highway on Saturday morning, police said.

They said the truck driver fled the spot after the accident. The incident happened around 6.30am when a Maruti Swift car rammed into a loaded stationary truck. The impact was so severe that the car was completely mangled, leaving two of the victims' bodies severely disfigured and trapped inside the wreckage. Another youth was ejected from the vehicle by the impact. Police said all the occupants of the car died on the spot.

Rakesh Kumar, SHO, Division Number 1 police station, said they received information about the accident at 6.30am. "Eyewitnesses ...
