India, June 5 -- The crime branch of the Government Railway Police (GRP) on Thursday arrested three of its personnel who were dismissed from service for extorting a jeweller at Mumbai Central railway station last year, a week after the Supreme Court revoked their anticipatory bail.

The arrested GRP personnel-assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Lalit Ramchandra Jagtap, and head constables Rahul Datta Bhosale and Anil Sitaram Rathod-were attached to the Mumbai Central Railway Police Station at the time of the incident.

According to the police, the three GRP personnel had intercepted a Rajasthan-based jeweller, Kamalkumar Soni, on platform 5 at Mumbai Central around 10.30 pm on August 10 last year. They checked his bag and found a 14-gram gold p...
