Jamshedpur, May 22 -- Twenty-five cadres of the banned Communist Party of India (CPI-Maoist) and two from the Jharkhand Jan Mukti Parishad (JJMP, a splinter group) surrendered before the Jharkhand police at its headquarters in Ranchi on Thursday, police said. According to police, the surrendered Maoists were part of the teams of Maoist politburo member Misir Besra, who has a bounty of Rs.2 crore on him, and central committee member (CCM) Asim Mondal, who also carries a bounty of Rs.1 crore, in Saranda, Kolhan and Porahat forest divisions in West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. While two surrendered JJMP extremists were active in Gumla area. These 27 surrendered Naxalites had 426 cases pending against them, police added.
