India, July 7 -- A 26-year-old man, celebrating a birthday party at a farmhouse in Sector 135, died late Sunday night after allegedly drowning in a swimming pool, police said on Monday.

Police identified the deceased as Lucky Sanvau, originally from Manipur, who resided in Noida's Wajidpur area. He worked at a private company in the same city.

According to police, they were informed around 2.30am from a hospital that a man had died due to drowning. "On visiting the hospital, it came to light that the victim had visited a farmhouse to celebrate a friend's birthday. During the party, at around 12am, the man allegedly drowned while swimming.
