New Delhi, July 30 -- A 25-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing his 60-year-old mother on Tuesday for allegedly refusing to lend him money to buy liquor, in Maidan Garhi, south Delhi, said a police officer. The victim was identified as Chinta Devi. DCP(south) Anant Mittal said acting on a PCR call around 9:30 pm, a police team found the victim in a critical state at her house in Kharak village, near Maidan Garhi. "She was shifted to Safdarjung Hospital but declared dead on arrival. During an initial probe, it was revealed that her younger son allegedly assaulted her after she refused to give him money to purchase liquor. He fled the spot after the attack," said Mittal.
