Noida, Aug. 12 -- A day after a 24-year-old woman jumped to her death from the 16th floor of a high-rise in Sector 110, Noida, her husband was arrested on charges of dowry death on Monday, police said on Tuesday.

The man, 28, is from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, while the woman belongs to Etah.

The incident took place around 5.30 pm on Sunday, and police were alerted by the security guard of the society. It seemed that her husband was unaware of the incident and, first, she was identified with the help of residents from the society.

"When we approached her flat, her husband, who was asleep, opened the flat. He was shocked to learn of the incident," said an investigator, requesting anonymity.
