India, Aug. 9 -- A 19-year-old Delhi University (DU) student allegedly died by suicide as she jumped off a shopping mall adjacent to Rajouri Garden metro station on Saturday, police said.

The body was found by a head constable of the Rajouri Garden police station who was on routine patrol duty, police said.

Deputy commissioner of police (west) Hareshwar V Swami said that a handwritten "suicide note" was recovered from the woman's possession.

"During enquiry, her family informed that she had been suffering from depression following her mother's death in 2021. No evidence suggesting foul play was found during the initial probe," said the DCP.
