New Delhi, May 4 -- A 14-year-old boy with end-stage heart failure underwent a heart transplant at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital after the family of a 41-year-old woman consented to organ donation following her brain death, officials said on Sunday.
The woman, wife of an Indian Army officer, was declared brain dead in Panchkula on May 2. The heart was transported from Chandigarh to Delhi through a green corridor and the organ reached hospital from the airport in 20 minutes.HTC
