India, Aug. 14 -- A 12-year-old girl was killed when a speeding DTC bus from the wrong side rammed into a two-wheeler her uncle riding to drop her off at school, on Dallupura Road in east Delhi on Friday morning, police said.

Police identified the deceased as Kayna Pal, a Class 8 student at a private school in the Dallupura area. She was on her way to school to attend Independence Day celebrations and a cultural programme when the accident occurred, her family said. Her uncle, Tinku Kumar, sustained injuries.

DCP (East) Rajeev Kumar said police received a PCR call about the accident around 8am. "The girl sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead. Her body has been shifted to LBS Hospital for necessary medico-legal proceedings," the...
