Chandigarh, March 25 -- To celebrate 75 years of making of Chandigarh, the UT administration on Tuesday honoured 12 Indian modernists for their contribution in shaping the city in its initial stage. The event served as the first of its kind, recognising the work of Indian professionals in making of the city other than the Swiss-French architect Le Corbusier and his team.

Organised by the administration in association with Chandigarh Citizens Foundation at Government Museum and Art Gallery, Sector 10, as many as 10 professionals were honoured posthumously with only Jeet Lal Malhotra, aged 97, and Shivdatt Sharma, 95, alive.
