11,800 booked for violations in 3-hour Delhi traffic drive
New Delhi, April 27 -- The Delhi Traffic Police booked over 11,800 motorists during a three-hour special drive on Saturday targeting wrong-side driving and improper parking, officials said. The city-wide enforcement focused on easing congestion and improving road safety.
Additional CP (traffic) Vijayanta Goyal Arya said, "The drive targeted major causes of congestion and accidents, including obstructive parking and wrong-side driving, and was carried out across all districts."
Police towed vehicles from no-parking zones, intersections and footpaths, with over 8,500 challans issued for parking violations and more than 3,500 for wrong-side driving. Since January, repeat or dangerous wrong-side driving cases are being booked under Section 281 ...
