NEW DELHI, July 4 -- More than a million and a half people of Delhi and the outlying villages overwhelmed President Eisenhower today with the warmth of this ancient city's most tumultuous welcome ever. Never had the President of America, according to his Press Secretary, Mr Hagerty, received a reception of this kind. At the end of it, two hours and forty minutes after he landed at Palam, Mr Eisenhower told President Rajendra Prasad and Mr Nehru, who were with him throughout the reception and the 12-mile State drive to Rashtrapati Bhavan, that he had been "deeply impressed" by the welcome.
