New Delhi, Sept. 22 -- The Delhi High Court on Monday refused to entertain a petition seeking an FIR and CBI probe into the alleged discovery of unaccounted cash at the official residence of former Allahabad High Court judge Justice Yashwant Varma, calling the plea a "wild witch hunt". A bench of Justice Amit Bansal permitted petitioner Ghanshyam Upadhayay to withdraw his plea seeking an FIR and constitution of an SIT to probe the alleged recovery of cash from Varma's Delhi residence in March 2025. Upadhayay argued that a three-member in-house inquiry committee had found merit in all three charges against Varma, following which he sought registration of an FIR but received no response.
