'We will reclaim power': Protesters in Bengaluru
BENGALURU, Oct. 9 -- The campaign against the special intensive revision (SIR) intensified on Thursday, as Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke, YouTuber Dhruv Rathee and actor-activist Prakash Raj, along with thousands others, gathered in protest at Bengaluru's Freedom Park, demanding the resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Addressing the protest described as "People's Tribunal", Dipke announced that the they will seize power from the streets. "(PM) Narendra Modi may have the power now, but we have the streets. We will reclaim our power from here."
Rathee raised questions over the deletion and addition of voters in several states. "In UP, over 1.4 million names were 'added' suddenly. Who are these people?...
