'Visits to China, Japan will further national interests'
New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday his visits to Japan and China will further India's national interests and contribute to cooperation aimed at advancing regional and global peace, security and sustainable development.
Modi will first travel to Japan during August 29-30 for an annual summit with Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and several trade and investment-related meetings. He will then go to China from August 30 to September 1 to attend the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Tianjin and to hold a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping.
